A SuperCONTACT is a crust freezer which is meant to freeze the bottom/top crust of a product before it goes into a freezer to freeze to the center. A typical use for a Crust freezer is to be located directly in front of a freezer spiral or IQF Tunnel. The function is to freeze the bottom crust of the product before it goes into the spiral to be fully frozen. This is done to keep delicate products from deforming during the spiral freezing process (as the belt collapses). As the belt collapses around the spiral, the belt could “crunch” the product and freeze in a deformed state. Products that use this are delicate baked products, chicken breasts, anything that must maintain their shape as the belt collapses around the spiral.
